60th Anniversary

Established in 1961 in Collingwood, Ontario, the Ainley Group is celebrating 60 years since founders William (Bill) & Trudy Ainley set up shop in the Collingwood area, becoming one of the first engineering companies in the Central Ontario area.

Initially specializing in the provision of engineering services for local municipalities, we have grown from a small family-run operation to an employee-owned and multi-disciplinary company with approximately 140 staff in 6 offices throughout Ontario. Today, we provide engineering, planning and development-related services encompassing transportation, water and wastewater, water resources, infrastructure management, structures and urban planning to public and private sector clients.

As we evolve and adapt to new challenges and changes, we continue to uphold and build upon Bill Ainley’s founding principles – “Always Strive for Excellence” and “Clients Come First.” These principles led him and our firm to our reputation for innovative thinking and close working relationships with our clients while delivering cost-effective, environmentally-friendly and community-driven solutions.

In celebration of our diamond anniversary, and in dedication to the memory of Bill and Trudy Ainley, we are excited to share the origin and mission of our founders and the firm, along with some key milestones from throughout our 60-year history, in the following publication.
